Two Rivers YMCA in Moline, Illinois broke ground on phase two of a $25 million improvement campaign that will refresh the facility’s image, enhance navigation, and introduce more amenities. We joined our partners at Two Rivers YMCA and Russell Co to celebrate the start of this new chapter in the 50-year-old facility's story.

Our team of licensed architects continues to grow — Mallory Rabeneck has obtained her architectural license and passed her final ARE division. Her achievement gives clients another trusted professional equipped to guide projects from design through construction.

The Kentucky native graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Design and moved to the Windy City to join our Chicago studio. She then started UIC School of Architecture’s three-year Master of Architecture program and worked at Legat during summer and winter breaks, as well as part-time during semesters when she didn’t have a TA position.

All the studying, site visits, and drawing have paid off. Congratulations to Mallory on achieving this milestone.

Sun and fun in Chi-Town. For architects, there’s nothing quite like spending a beautiful day in a city known for its architectural wonders. Our Oak Brook studio’s summer outing started with the famed Chicago River Boat Architectural Tour. The studio then grabbed a quick snack at O’Brien’s Riverwalk Café before continuing along the Riverwalk to Island Party Hut for some shade and games.

An Uplifting Upgrade

Watch A.F. Siebert Chapel’s transformation unfold in this timelapse video. The Legat-designed renovation refreshes the spiritual heart of Carthage College’s Kenosha campus while making it more flexible and welcoming.

New movable, upholstered seating accommodates 570 people. Monochromatic terrazzo replaces the brick floor, with glass flecks that capture the light and brighten the worship experience.

A stalled hotel project found new momentum and a new market position.

Legat transformed an earlier design into a 116-room extended-stay hotel. The result brings the Homewood Suites by Hilton brand to Portsmouth’s historic downtown while responding to today’s hospitality market.
