AMA is pleased to announce the promotions of Mark Mazibrook and Bob Schaefer!

Congratulations to Mark Mazibrook for his promotion to President of Anderson Mikos Architects, ltd. Mark began his career at AMA in 1997. From the beginning, he has taken on a leadership role starting with the development and maintenance of the firm’s CAD systems. Mark strives for excellence in managing clients and staff for healthcare projects from conceptual design through construction administration. Mark is responsible for establishing and overseeing production guidelines to ensure work quality and that project protocols are being met. In addition to his current project responsibilities, Mark will now assist with technology, business development, and marketing to promote AMA’s vision, mission, core values, and long-term goals.

Congratulations to Bob Schaefer of Anderson Mikos Architects, ltd. Bob has been part of the Anderson Mikos Architects team since 1994. Prior to joining AMA, he was employed for over eight years as a designer and architect at Children's Memorial Medical Center (now Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital) in Chicago. In addition to continuing his longstanding leadership roles as a senior project architect and client liaison, Bob will be responsible for employee relations and overseeing AMA’s daily operations, including project staffing and schedules.

AMA is proud to partner with the many diligent care providers who staff locations such as Aunt Martha’s Health and Wellness in Chicago Heights and Joliet.

Today we celebrate the retirement of George Franceschina who served as our President and Director of Technology for over 40 years. George has been a trusted leader since the firm was founded in 1985. His expertise in marketing and technology enabled the firm to thrive through the Covid pandemic, quickly updating equipment, improving communication tools and training staff to work in person or virtually while producing client deliverables through uncertain times. George has led significant and meaningful projects for high profile clients such as Advocate Health. Dave Mikos, Principal-In-Charge states, "We can’t thank George enough for his friendship, loyalty, and commitment to AMA." Congratulations and best wishes, George.

Harry Anderson and Dave Mikos formed a unique firm that allowed the freedom to create healing spaces using “Architecture through Listening,” a motto our leadership still follows. Our focus is on creating the best spaces for healthcare providers to help all patients. We continue to accomplish these goals. A big thank you to our staff, clients, consultants, and other friends!

Welcome to our new Senior Project Architect, Jennifer Alrutz, RA! Jen studied on both the East and West Coasts, obtaining a BFA at Syracuse NY College of Visual and Performing Arts and Master of Architecture at Southern California Institute of Architecture. Jen's academic training in architecture and the fine arts includes digital imaging, photography, ceramics, and sculpture. Throughout her career, Jen has continued to invest time in hands on artistic endeavors, finding that it strengthens all the computer modeling that she does. Experienced in all phases of design from concept to construction administration, Jen brings an understanding of the collaboration and attention to detail needed to take a project from a plan to a reality.
