Fire and water - what a combination! In this Arlington project, the fire pit was placed so it could be enjoyed from the pool, the terrace and the surrounding seating areas, making it just as inviting on an October evening as it is after a swim in July. 🔥

From playtime to downtime.

The same backyard, but two different experiences.

During the day, there's space for children to explore and play. As evening arrives, the fire pit becomes the heart of the garden, bringing family and friends together beneath the trees.

This is a great example of a multi-functional backyard that serves the needs of different family members.

Phew! We've had a busy summer!

Here's another project making great progress in McLean.

We're currently constructing a new elevated deck with an under-deck dry area, creating two functional outdoor living spaces rather than one.

It's a feature that often gets overlooked, but it can dramatically increase usable space—providing sheltered storage, a future entertaining area or simply another place to enjoy the landscape, especially for smaller backyards.

We can't wait to show you the finished result!

Not every project begins with a blank canvas. Many begin with a home that already has beautiful architecture but lacks the landscape to match.

This entrance in Alexandria was designed to strengthen that relationship. The new stonework, planting and detailing don't compete with the house—they help it feel more grounded within its setting and more welcoming to homeowners and visitors alike.

Good landscape design is all about the aesthetic. Great landscape design engages all of the senses.

The sound of moving water, the reflection of the surrounding landscape, the way light dances across the surface of the pool.... it's a thing of beauty!

Water features like this sheer descent do more than create a focal point—they introduce movement, atmosphere and a sense of tranquillity that changes the way a space is experienced.

This is where it makes it more than just a pool and an immersive experience ✨

We often refer to screened porches as outdoor rooms, and this one we're particularly proud of!

The perfect combo of indoor-outdoor flex, they offer the comfort of being indoors during all seasons while still maintaining a connection to nature and the outdoors.

Positioned between the architecture and the garden, they become a natural extension of the home—somewhere to entertain, unwind and experience the outdoors in complete comfort.

Like every element of a well-designed landscape, a screened porch shouldn't feel added on but should feel as though it has always belonged.

Every project reaches a point where the vision starts to become reality.

In this project in Fairfax County, the pool is now filled, the stormwater management systems are in place, and the first areas of planting are beginning to soften the hardscape. While there are still finishing touches to come, this is the stage where the landscape starts to settle into its surroundings.

Our projects aren't always defined by the features you can see. Beneath the surface, carefully engineered grading, drainage and construction details ensure the landscape performs just as beautifully as it looks for years to come.

We're looking forward to sharing the finished result soon!
