History

The Electric Golf Club of Chicago was organized in 1923 by Joseph P. The founding Committe included Al Brown, Joseph Fink, Frank Glassman, Cecil Hurtt, Frank Jaske, Walter Kelly, James J. Simons Sr., Jack Stackhouse, William Steinmetz, Charles Weicensang, Saul Weinress, Arthur Wellman and Blaine Williams. They scheduled six tournaments each year. Its members were recruited from the Electr

ic Golf Club of Chicago, an organization of sales and executives of manufacturers, agents, and distributors of electrical materials. In 1930 the electrical contractors under Kelso and Collins wanted to become associated with this club, so the Electric Golf Club accepted the contracters and opened its membership to everyone connected with the electrical industry.

Qualifications for Membership Any person working in or involved with the electrical industry is eligible to become a member of the Electric Golf Club. Dues are $75.00 per year.
