“Keith and his crew were meticulous in their work. They cleaned up everyday, working hard for multiple weeks even in inclement weather (when it was safe to do so). We could tell from the moment they started to the moment they finished and we did the final walkthrough that there is pride in the work and that each customer is treated with the same care and attention.”

Reviews like this mean more to us than I can put into words.

This project included a complete backyard makeover, a new covered composite deck, repurposing pavers from the original patio and a full renovation of the front landscaping with a tiered wall and new plantings.

It was a large project with plenty of details, but our goal remained simple: create attractive, low-maintenance outdoor spaces this family will actually use and enjoy.

We’re grateful for the trust they placed in us and especially appreciate their recognition of our crew’s hard work, cleanliness and attention to detail throughout the project.

Thank you for allowing K Morris Landscape Design to be part of your home. We truly enjoyed bringing it all together—and we couldn’t ask for a better review.

A covered patio or deck isn’t just about adding a roof—it’s about creating a space that fits the way you actually live.

Think about furniture, traffic flow, dining, entertaining, and how you may use the space down the road. A little extra planning up front can make a big difference later.

New job site.....new outdoor living space coming soon!!

Today we’re removing the old and getting this space ready for what’s next. It may not be the prettiest stage of the project, but good preparation is what sets the foundation for a great, finished space.

Stay tuned as this one unfolds!

A good landscape should offer something worth noticing in every season—not just when everything is blooming.

I created The Four-Season Yard, a free landscape design guide for homeowners, designers and contractors who want to make better planting decisions.

Inside, you’ll find practical information on:

• Building structure into the landscape
• Layering trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials
• Planning for spring, summer, fall and winter interest
• Choosing plants with mature size and site conditions in mind
• Avoiding common planting, drainage and maintenance mistakes

This guide comes from more than 30 years of seeing what works on paper, what works in the field—and where the two don’t always agree.

September Landscaping Tips 🍂

September is one of those months where a little work in the yard can go a long way.

The summer heat starts backing off, the soil is still warm, and cooler weather gives us a great opportunity to get a few things done before winter.

This is a good time to plant trees and shrubs, aerate and overseed the lawn, clean up planting beds, refresh mulch, and check your landscape lighting as the days start getting shorter.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that you don’t have to tackle everything at once. A few small things done at the right time can make a big difference in how your landscape looks this fall—and how well it comes back next spring.

And don’t be too quick to put the outdoor spaces away. Some of the best evenings on the patio are ahead of us in Western Pennsylvania!

A patio gives you a place to sit. A covered porch gives you an outdoor space you’ll actually use.

Protection from the hot sun, steady rain and even winter snow means this space can be enjoyed more often throughout the year—not just when the weather cooperates.

If you’re planning an outdoor living space, consider adding a roof. It may be the feature that makes the biggest difference.

This project was about more than adding a covered porch or updating the landscaping. It was about making the entire property feel more comfortable, connected, and complete.

From the retaining walls and carefully shaped planting beds in the front to the new covered porch, composite decking, paver patio, drainage, and purposeful landscaping in the backyard—every detail was designed to work together.

A lot of planning, problem-solving, and hands-on craftsmanship went into this transformation. We’re proud of how it all came together—and even happier knowing this family now has a beautiful outdoor space they can enjoy for years to come.
