This Canyon Design Build kitchen renovation in Orinda shows how much a small space can do. We created a greater sense of openness by brightening the color palette and adding a wall of glass sliding doors that floods the room with natural light. Darker accents, like the slab countertops, create crisp contrast, while the textured tile backsplash adds just the right amount of detail. Along the opposite wall, a hardworking office nook with integrated storage makes the space as functional as it is inviting.

Making the most of a home means responding to each space on its own terms. In this Piedmont whole-home renovation, he main bathroom was designed to be a showstopper, with a soaking tub, layered tile, and a light-filled palette. In the smaller secondary bath, an angled glass corner shower works with the room’s unusual footprint while keeping the space visually open. The powder room takes a more playful approach, pairing a freestanding sink with patterned wallpaper in a space where personality should take priority.

In this Moraga remodel, our clients wanted to preserve the home’s 1970s charm by leaning into playful retro color and texture. In the kitchen, the vibrant tile throughout becomes its own artwork, while the butler’s pantry pairs soft terracotta tile and wood with bright walls. In the bathroom, floor-to-ceiling tile frames the space around an oval freestanding soaking tub, bringing color, pattern, and personality into every corner.

At this refined poolside ADU by Canyon Design Build in Lafayette, California, the bedroom suite opens directly to the terrace through large sliders, setting the scene for a morning dip, an afternoon in the sun, lunch from the kitchen pass-through bar, and an outdoor shower rinse before settling in with a good book and a spritz by the pool.

For this cozy kitchen remodel in a classic Oakland home, we utilized every inch of space available. Tall cabinetry maximizes storage without crowding the room, end-of-counter storage adds function at the island, and the client’s blue statement wall brings color and depth to the space. The kitchen sink area overlooks the outdoors and sliders open directly to the deck, creating an easy connection between everyday cooking and time outside.

Full Review: "We have worked extensively with the Canyon Design Build team for over a year and 100% trust leaving our home in their capable hands. Our Oakland hillside home with difficult access and parking challenges was built in the 80s, and we deferred some deep structural problems for too long. They were not daunted! They did exterior work, including new cement fiber siding(fire resistant with wood look), window and replacement, rebuilt 2 cantilevered balconies, new modern fencing around our rooftop driveway. Also a lot of beautifully designed interior work, we gutted the bedroom level, put in the most gorgeous and fun double shower ever, with heated floors, lighted mirrors and medicine cabinets, art niche, AC mini split hidden in the ceiling of the primary suite, hanging pendant lamps, upholstered headboard, and so much more! Honestly it feels like a high end hotel now. I loved the collaborative process with them. All the inspections went smoothly. They really stand behind their work, too, very responsive when we had a roof leak that was not related to anything they touched, but immediately had it fixed. These guys are the best and we can’t wait to work with them again! The whole team and their extensive network of local sub-specialists are amazingly talented, personable and respectful."
