Grays Power Supply is seeking dedicated Apprentice Lineman to join our team and develop essential skills in utility construction and maintenance. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience working with high and low voltage systems, heavy equipment, and various construction tools. The Apprentice Lineman will assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure, gaining valuable industry knowledge and practical skills in a dynamic environment. Candidates with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and interest in utility operations are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical lines and equipment on construction sites.
Operate heavy machinery such as bucket trucks, excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, and other power tools under supervision.
Use hand tools and rigging techniques to support construction activities.
Climb poles and structures safely using appropriate safety gear and techniques.
Support the setup and operation of bucket operation equipment for overhead line work.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Experience

Prior construction site experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for all technical skills.
Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and bucket trucks is advantageous.
Knowledge of electrical systems including high voltage, low voltage, is a plus.
Experience with hand tools, power tools, rigging, mechanical knowledge, and utility locating enhances candidacy.
Ability to climb poles or structures safely and work at heights is essential.
Mechanical aptitude combined with a willingness to learn new skills related to electrical infrastructure is highly valued. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing a career in utility construction while gaining practical experience working with industry-leading equipment and technology.

Today we are grateful for all of our crews to return home safe. 21 days on Storm restoration in 4 states, and 7 utilities, with crews assisting form 11 states and one Irishman from across the pond, to help those in need. I thank God for making this possible, I thank hands for all their hard work and thank the utilities for having the faith in us to make it achievable.

Day 17 starting off great
5 crews in yalobsha, 2 in TALLAHATCHIE, 2 in Panola county. 530 am start and trying to knock off by 930. Guys are doing a awesome job and we are super proud to have them on our team. These men and women have been away from there families supporting our communities. We can not express how greatly we appreciate them. Still a long way to go but we will get there.
