This century-old Cape Cod cottage needed a lot of TLC on the exterior. After hand scraping nearly every brick and mortar joint, restoring damaged dental moulding, and completing several minor exterior repairs, we collected nearly a full pail of old, flaking paint. Every inch of the house was tended to: brick, trim & mouldings scraped, sanded, primed, sealed and top coated—brushed and rolled by hand in SW 7005 Pure White.

A lot of careful detail-oriented work, but seeing the final result made it all worth it. Here’s to another hundred years for this quaint Cape Cod.

This century-old home is blending its original character with a refined, modern sensibility.

In the living room, the unique coffered ceilings and original plaster walls were finished in SW 7035 Aesthetic White allowing their historic details to quietly shine. The trim, staircase & doors in SW 7036 Accessible Beige create a soft, layered contrast — classic with a contemporary feel.

Just beyond, the dining room offers an expression of the home’s character. The ceiling, also in Aesthetic White, preserves a sense of openness, while SW 6187 Rosemary adds color, warmth and style.

Check out this latest segment from KMOV on the efforts to restore the searchlight in University City. This is a really unique piece of St. Louis history hidden in plaint sight!

The searchlight was installed in 1903 by E.G. Lewis, the founder of University City, in an effort to attract visitors in town for the 1904 World’s Fair at Forest Park.
