🍂 FALL LANDSCAPING TIP: DON'T CUT EVERYTHING BACK!
As temperatures drop and plants begin preparing for winter, it's tempting to trim everything down and clean out every landscape bed.
But did you know that some plants actually benefit from being left alone until spring?
🌿 Ornamental Grasses – Leaving them standing can provide winter interest and help protect the plant's crown.
🌸 Perennials – Some benefit from keeping their stems and foliage through winter, providing shelter for beneficial insects.
🌳 Trees & Shrubs – Not all plants should be pruned in fall. Trimming certain spring-flowering varieties now could remove next year's flower buds!
🍁 Landscape Beds – A light layer of fallen leaves can help insulate soil and protect beneficial insects through the colder months.
