Making the Time Count
Adam Canaday didn’t have the next nine years mapped out when he joined Salem Stones. He knew little about the memorial industry. He just saw an opportunity worth taking.
It’s taken him through Sales and Customer Experience, working on everything from custom memorials to mausoleums and columbaria. Along the way, he’s built lasting relationships.
Today, Adam works with many of Salem’s longest-standing customers on the Key Accounts team. One of his favorite moments comes when a finished project is set, and the customer sends a photo.
“They’re so proud of this project and that you had whatever small role on it is really cool,” Adam said.
For him, “It’s all about serving the families.”
Family shapes his time outside Salem, too. Adam and his wife are raising two young daughters, and travel is a priority. Adam has visited many countries, both girls already have passports, and one family adventure took three generations to Mallorca, Spain.
For Adam, making the time count also means enjoying the stage his girls are in right now, even when fatherhood keeps him humble.
His younger daughter recently declared there were only three people in the world she loved. Dad didn’t make the list.
He’s gaining ground, though.
“I’ve gotten, ‘Daddy, I love you a little bit,’” Adam said. “It’s a great step in the right direction.”
