Ditching dry fertilizer completely this year? Here’s what we’re running instead.

No synthetic fertilizers, no turkey pellets, no traditional dry spread. We’re taking a 100% liquid, foliar-only approach on this plot to see what kind of growth we can unlock:

💦 15 Gal Water per acre
🌱 5 lbs Granular Carbon & Potassium
🧪 16 oz Micronutrient blend

We’ve had plenty of rain to keep things moving, so this is all about giving the plants that extra boost through the leaves.

We experimented with something new on the river farm plot this season! Since we’re dealing with sandier soil here, we’re putting down nitrogen as a starter and following up with water-soluble fertilizers using our sprayers as the corn comes up. Looking forward to seeing how these trials pay off compared to our usual routine.

This clover plot took a hit last year after being nuked by the farmer, so I decided to start rebuilding it.

I frost seeded clover first, but it was still pretty patchy, so I came back in and drilled more seed into the plot. The good news is there’s plenty of clover starting to come up.

The bad news? Plenty of w**ds too.

My plan is to bush hog everything down before the next rain and see how much of the w**d pressure we can knock back. If that doesn’t do the trick, we’ll move on to spraying.

The clover is coming back. Now we just need to clean the plot up and let it grow.
