Today marks one year since we lost William “Bill” Del Zotto and also what would have been his 84th birthday.
There are certain people whose presence is impossible to replace, and Bill was one of them.
Over this past year, one thing that has become incredibly clear is just how many people he impacted. Near and far, expected and unexpected, people continue to share stories about him; memories, advice, laughs, and moments they’ve carried with them for years. Everywhere we go, it seems someone has a story about Bill.
He was someone you didn’t forget.
He had such a distinct voice, a larger-than-life personality, and an attitude that people genuinely miss. The kind of attitude that filled a room, made people laugh, definitely kept people on their toes, and somehow made every conversation memorable. There was only one Bill.
The people who knew him knew his work ethic, his humor, his strength, and the way he cared deeply for the people around him. He left an impression on people without even trying to.
There are still moments where the loss feels hard to understand. Moments where we wish we could hear his voice again, have one more argument, listen to one more story, or have one more conversation.
But through all of the sadness, we’re thankful for the memories and for the legacy he left behind in so many lives.
Today we remember him not only for what he accomplished, but for who he was to the people who knew him.
A husband.
A father.
A grandfather.
A mentor.
A friend.
Someone truly unforgettable.
Happy Birthday, Bill.
You are deeply missed and thought about every single day, for the rest of our lives.
