Buying a home usually includes a 4-point inspection which includes a closer look at the roof, plumbing, electrical and HVAC system. Why? These can be among the costliest systems to repair/replace so buyers want to avoid further expense or leverage buying power when systems are in poor condition.

With an HVAC system averaging 6k to 15k for a replacement, you do not want any HVAC surprises after a closing. This is why, in addition to a basic inspection, you should call Ocala Heating & Air.

Never place solid or large furniture directly against an AC return vent. Your HVAC system needs free, uninhibited airflow to breathe. Blocking it chokes the system, spikes your energy bills, and can even cause evaporator coils to freeze up and severely damage your unit = 💲💲💲💲💲

We understand sometimes these returns are in aggravating places and spaces that might seem to limit how you can arrange the furniture and decor in your home, but there are options:

↔ Leave a 6 -12" gap: Ensure there is a clear buffer of at least 6 to 12 inches between the wall and your furniture so air can flow around and into the vent.

🛋 Use leggy furniture: Couches and chairs raised on legs allow air to be pulled underneath the furniture and into the vent. Solid, flush-to-the-floor pieces completely suffocate the return.

🛠 If the vent placement interferes with your room layout, you can call Ocala Heating & Air to evaluate your ductwork placement and game plan options to safely modify or move your registers.
