Vegetables had absolutely no business getting this damn pretty.

Seriously… look at peppers.

Red. Yellow. Orange. Purple. Chocolate. Stripes. Wrinkles. Tails. Some look like little lanterns. Some look like they’re plotting something.

Tomatoes are over there like,
“Hey, I’m red.”

THAT’S ADORABLE, TOM.

Meanwhile peppers are changing colors three times, growing into shapes nobody can explain, and casually becoming hot enough to make a grown man reconsider every decision that brought him to this moment.

And somehow… they’re beautiful as hell.

Yeah, I love the heat.
I love making sauce.
I love growing the ridiculous superhots.

But dumping a fresh harvest on the table and looking at all those colors?

That’s the part, man.

A tiny seed…
some dirt…
water…
sunshine…
a questionable amount of beer…

and somehow THIS comes out of it.

Tell me peppers aren’t the damn supermodels of the vegetable garden.

These pepper plants have seen some things.

They made it through winter, pushed through the weird weather, survived the neglect that every garden gets at some point, and now they’re loading up with fruit like none of it ever happened.

There’s something special about overwintered peppers. They come out of spring with thicker stems, deeper roots, and an attitude that says, “We’ve done this before.”

Meanwhile, the seed trays are about to come back out because late season planting in Florida is where the fun starts. Cooler weather is coming eventually, and now feels like the perfect time to start planning the next round.
