Now that I got the materials delivered I can start the Mahogany Kitchen Island project I have been working on the design for a couple months now. It will have many custom features. Like pull out trash and recycling  bins, a pull out spice rack, possibly a resist bookshelf under the bar. I’m excited to get started.

This was a very challenging project. Had to be very delicate so I didn’t mess anymore glass up. But once again I accomplished the task.

Slow and steady wins the race, the main focal point of the cabinet doors are set. In a straight line, very challenging. Handmade work from start to finish, I milled them, build them, painted them, now I’m installing them. It took some figuring out, ALOT of small 🧩 pieces to get them to line up. Glad to start seeing the finish line.

If your Balling on a budget and want to invest into yourself. Buy second hand tools. I just bought a 250$ Biscuit from r Plate Jointer for 40$, parts of it still had the protective plastic on it. This tool will speed up the process when making panels or table tops.

I made this simple jig out of scraps lying around the shop. It helps support the doors while screwing but most IMPORTANTLY it insures that everything is hung at the same height. Keeping everything on the same plain and consistent.

Finally got the shelves hung for the homeowner. I used a felt strip on top of the dividers so they can be adjusted to their liking.

Can’t always get it right on the first try. But the key is to not give up and correct your mistakes!! Now I’m waiting on the right hinges.
