Three years ago, we took a chance on 150 years of history. 🏡

Today marks three years since we acquired this incredible home, and looking at these photos side by side is almost hard to believe.

The goal was never to make an old house look new. It was to bring it back to life while honoring the character that made it worth saving in the first place.

There have been surprises, setbacks, dust, demolition, discoveries, and more decisions than I could ever count. But little by little, a home that had weathered nearly a century and a half began another chapter.

Three years later, the transformation is about more than fresh paint, landscaping, porches, or additions. It’s about preservation. It’s about seeing potential where others might see work. And it’s about knowing that something built to last deserves the chance to keep doing exactly that.

150 years old. Three years into our chapter. And still standing beautifully. 🤍 Happy anniversary girl!

It is a true gift to work with a client that not only understands and appreciates a historic home but embraces the idea of making it useful and giving it new life.

150 years of history. A new space for the next chapter. 🤍

Adding onto a historic home isn’t about changing its story. It’s about giving that story room to continue.

This new space connects naturally to the kitchen & living area, creating a place designed for everyday family life: morning coffee, after-school homework, casual dinners, long conversations, and extra seating when everyone gathers.

The character of the original home remains, but the way the family can live in it evolves.

Old home. New memories. More room to be together.

Just a few progress photos of the new outdoor YMCA pool. The new pool will feature 3 - 25 yd. long lap lanes, an ADA zero entry pool ramp and a 8-10” splash area and a large shallow area 3-5’ deep. It is going to be a multi-program pool geared toward early swimmers, water aerobics, physical therapy and routine lap exercise/training.

Very excited about this project. It is moving along quickly the new 25 yd. Outdoor pool will be opened first then the new indoor pool later.

I am very excited to get this project moving. the original pools were over 50 years old and served to teach countless kids & adults to swim. The new pools will continue that great service.
The indoor pool will be one of the best 25 yd. competition pools in the region, in addition to having a large shallow end for water aerobics and the deep end is deep enough for scuba certifications.
The new outdoor pool will have an accessible zero entry ramp, a large 3- 25yd lap lanes and a large shallow end for teaching and children's play. In addition to it will have a super shallow sun deck area.

Quint & I took a little time to help make some beds.

I spent a couple hours the other day with the tile setter, making sure we had this beautiful mosaic positioned just right so that we can get all the blooms to land in the right spots and optimizing the area that is to be cut out for the window so that we can the most of it, using it on the wall at the opposite end of the master bath. It is a blessing to work with a great client, beautiful materials & talented craftsmen.

This was a very interesting historical property. Kent had a real vision of what he wanted it to be. I really enjoyed learning so much about the history of the area and working with Kent.
