A bigger budget doesn’t always mean a better yard.

Honestly, a big part of my process is helping clients get the best bang for their buck.

The trick is knowing where to save, where to splurge, and where to plan for future upgrades.

Slopes stress people out! But it’s not that hard!

Front yard slope? Curb appeal suddenly feels complicated.

Backyard slope? Most people think they need some giant project to fix it.

Really most sloped yards just need a better landscaping plan.

I’ve found that keeping it simple works best:

🌿a little structure at the base
🌿planting that fills space naturally
🌿mulch to clean everything up

Those three things can completely change how the yard feels.

Yard Idea 10! 👉🏼The quickest way to make a yard feel designed? Pay attention to how you move through it.

Texture. A little contrast. Spacing that feels natural. And materials that fit your yard style. That’s what gives it character.

Concrete isn’t the only option for your pathways.

Yard Idea 7! Fixing that Awkward Side Yard!🌿

Side yards are one of the most slept-on spots in a yard.

I love turning these into usable, good-looking spaces instead of dead zones.

Whether you’re looking for a space to reset (sauna, anyone?)

Smart storage (my surfboard shed was a game changer)

Or somewhere that’s not just a dumping ground,

I’ve seen and designed it all!

It doesn’t have to be big, just well thought out.

It’s not always about fitting as much as possible! 👉🏼It’s Day 2 of my 12 days of Yard Ideas and we’re talking space planning!

As a landscape designer, I want your space to feel good and make your life easier.

The outdoor kitchen is by the back door so you can grab your steaks and throw them on the grill quickly.

The lounge is slightly elevated for sight-lines, making it easier to watch the kids or talk to the crew at the dining table.

The fountain? Pure vibes and a little white noise to soften the whole space.

Function, flow, connection points all matter.

From tired yard 👉🏼 Cozy Coastal Hangout🌴

Style is always high the design wish list, but for this small family, function was top priority.

A patio with custom fire pit, a legit dining + kitchen set up, kid-friendly lawn and a fountain that adds a little something extra✨ makes it beautiful AND usable.
