New build lawn install completed in Oconomowoc, WI.

This project included final grading, lawn seeding, starter fertilizer, straw blanket installation stapled down for protection, and a hardwood tree installation required by the HOA.

Finished project by Martinez Landscaping.

We rebuilt these cut stone steps and refreshed the surrounding landscape bed with new landscape fabric and decorative stone for a cleaner, safer, and longer lasting finish.

Part 1 of this backyard project completed.

For this phase, we installed a brand new landscape bed with brown timber edging along with Mississippi river rock and new plants to give the area a clean, finished look while keeping it low maintenance.

We also regraded and compacted the area underneath the deck to help push water away from the home and prevent water buildup. The space is now much cleaner, more solid, and usable for storage underneath the deck.

Quick landscape bed refresh completed by Martinez Landscaping.

For this project we cleaned up the existing river rock border, reshaped the bed with a cleaner curved edging design, installed new w**d barrier fabric, added fresh mulch, and planted a new maple tree to freshen up the area and improve curb appeal. Simple cleanups like this can make a huge difference in the overall look of a property.

Part 2 update on this Oconomowoc project off MacGregor Ln.

This video shows the lawn around 1.5 weeks into growth, then again at 2 weeks after installation, along with the first mow. You can really start seeing the sod establish, tighten up, and stripe out once the roots begin taking hold and the lawn starts settling into the final grade.

The first mow was done at 4.5 inches to help protect the new sod while it continues rooting into the soil. Keeping new sod taller during the early stages helps reduce stress, retain moisture, encourage deeper root growth, and avoid scalping any uneven areas while the lawn finishes settling.

A lot of the final result comes from the prep work underneath before the sod ever goes down. Proper grading, leveling, topsoil prep, drainage, and watering all play a major role in how a new lawn establishes over the first few weeks.

Completed property transformation in the Oconomowoc area near Olympia Fields. This project also included Kentucky bluegrass sod installation to give the property a thick, healthy lawn with an immediate finished appearance.

This project included full grading and leveling of the yard, new landscape bed installation with natural edging, plant installation, irrigation installation, a concrete patio extension, underground downspout drainage, and lawn restoration work.

The property had several low areas holding water near the home, so we regraded the yard to improve drainage and create a smoother, more even finish throughout the property. We also installed underground downspout lines with pop-up emitters to help move water away from the foundation and help prevent future drainage issues.

New landscape beds were installed around the home with natural trench edging to give the property a cleaner appearance while still keeping a natural look that fits the property well. New plants were added throughout the beds to improve curb appeal and give the home a more finished appearance.

The existing patio was also extended with new concrete to create additional outdoor living space and improve the layout of the backyard.

These photos were taken about 1 week after installation. The lawn is already starting to establish nicely and will continue filling in over the next few weeks. We’ll be posting Part 2 soon with updated videos around the 1.5 to 2 week mark showing the progress and first mow.
