With this area cleared, we’ll be planting new trees (away from the power lines) later this Spring.

You don’t need a huge amount of property for land clearing to make sense, just a desire to make it look better!

We’re making hay, or in this case mulch, while the sun shines. This weather is perfect for land clearing jobs so we’re taking advantage of it.

We’re running the machine well below its capabilities as we have a road and structures in the area but this gives you a good idea of what it’s capable of.

If you’re in the Dousman area and need some extra storage (or even an office or contractor shop space), be sure to check out Lake Country Mini Storage. They have some of the nicest storage space we’ve seen anywhere!

Our last couple jobs have been smaller projects but we’re well equipped for projects of any size.

We were busy today in the Ottawa area doing some light land clearing. This customer had already done some of the work himself but we cleared up the remaining brush and stumps so it could be seeded.

The “before” pictures were taken a couple weeks ago but the “after” pictures show just how well mulching works.

This project had a lot going on and was quite the transformation!

We started by clearing invasive buckthorn, dying box elder, and dead ash trees. Once all the trees were cleaned up we regraded the area, removing remaining roots and stumps.

Next came tree planting from our tree division Willow Creek Tree Company who planted a nice selection of trees including Canadian Hemlock, Swamp White Oak, Autumn Blaze Maple, Firefall Maple, and Fall Fiesta Sugar Maple.

Once the trees were planted we finish graded the area and planted a mix of highly desirable clover varieties to attract wildlife. To make sure the new seeds didn’t wash out and to help them get established we finished up with straw blankets.

The first two pictures are the before and after. It’s honestly hard to believe that this is the same property!
