Getting ready to set some 16” casing.

In the Odessa sub area, when it comes to irigation wells, well casing must be set to a minimum depth of 200’ in to the Grand Ronde aquifer. Usually, the Department of Ecology uses their maps to set that minimum depth prior to initiating construction of an irrigation well.

This depth requirement helps to ensure water is available in the shallower aquifer (Wanapum) for domestic uses and stock wells.
