Io LandArch

Io LandArch Io LandArch is a woman-owned landscape architecture and urban design studio, based in Ogden, Utah.

We weave culture and nature to create super-natural places – places that are imbued with a sense of connection, context, and meaning. Io takes a holistic approach to landscape architecture - from large sites with many demands and purposes to small, quiet spaces for gathering family and friends - we believe that design starts with an understanding of how nature creates a space for human connection

. Each of our projects takes into consideration the desired functionality and pairs stylistic elements with sustainable features to achieve a space which not only meets the needs of today but provides a thoughtful platform for future growth and development.

We recently completed concepts for roundabout art integration for Springville, Utah's Art City. The design shows how art can be integrated into the landscape using standard pads/platforms.

From rendering to reality!

Our clients on this project really wanted the landscape to reflect the way they live. Food and hospitality are a big part of their lives, so one of their priorities was a substantial harvest garden and greenhouse where they could grow their own produce. They also wanted a cedar hot tub and an outdoor living space where they could relax and entertain. And, somewhat uniquely, they needed dedicated parking for their food truck that could also function as a catering and serving space when they host larger gatherings at home.

Those three priorities—food production, gathering, and flexibility—became major drivers of the design.

This summer, we wrapped up a Reconnaissance Level Survey for Spanish Fork City, which Shalae recently presented to City Council.
