Local History-
Drilling has been used in mining since 1627 when a Hungarian miner, Caspar Weindl, developed a way to create holes in the rock to pack with black powder charges. You can see the history of mining and its relationship with drilling here in our back yard. Or under our back yard to be more accurate.
