Turned 76 today and started the day with an early morning surf. Can't remember when I was last in the ocean...maybe late August. The first real Fall/Winter swell on the West Coast is building and I caught one of my favorite out-of-the-way breaks offering shoulder-high+ peaks and nobody out. Had it to myself for about an hour. Caught more than my share, and paddled in when the tide started to spoil the fun and four others paddled out. Love riding my T-Belly, always leave the water with a smile on my face.

Here’s my ‘20-‘21 Winter kneeboard. It’s a 6-0 bump-wing diamond-tail 5-fin. Designed and shaped by Thomas Patrick (me!) and glassed by Larese Lamination in Ventura. Dims: 6’0” x 22.75” x 2.63” 40L. Custom deck pad by Cove Pad.

I’ve been building kneeboards for customers for a while, so thought it was time to build one for myself. This one has a fairly traditional bump-tail swallow outline, with a deep center-concave feeding into a double exit-concave with plenty of “V” out the tail. Beveled-rail bottom helps with turn initiation from the kneelo’s forward riding position. Switch between Quad or Thruster with the 5-Fin st-up. Dims are 5’11” x 23” x 2.5” 38L.
