Let's talk Jatrophas. There is a common misconception that if you water Jatrophas more than once or twice a year, they will die. Thats more commonly stated about the berlandierei, but ive seen it also be said about the podagrica. These plants LOVE a good drink of water, it just wants those drinks spaced out. Make sure you're letting your soil dry out completely, just like most cacti and succulents, before watering again. In Oklahoma, with a 70/30 soil mix, we are watering about every 10 days.

Madison spotted a praying mantis on our Euphorbia Laceii! I don’t know about y’all, but growing up, I always thought praying mantises were creepy. 😅 It wasn’t until a few years ago that I learned they were actually beneficial! They are natural predators, eating those pesky pests that us plant growers despise! We’ve been very lucky the last few years because, for some reason, our house seems to be a preferred breeding ground for these garden guardians 🌵🐛

Euphorbia Venefica × Groenwaldii hybridized by the late Mike Keeling. These are caudex forming, and somewhat slow growing. From what we've found, they are infertile 😅 I have a plan to start from scratch and get more seed grown plants next year! We are very fortunate to have access to these amazing plants 😍

The Midwest’s LARGEST cactus and succulent sale of the year is happening this weekend in St. Louis! Come to the Jost Event Center this Saturday and Sunday for thousands of desert plants to purchase. The Henry Shaw Cactus & Succulent Society is one of the oldest society clubs in the United States, and there’s a reason it’s still around today 💚🌵

This event is FREE to the public, it’s indoors, and has a free kids activity! You can enjoy shopping from some incredible vendors, and take a look at the plant show while you’re there. This is where collectors get to show off their amazing specimens, so don’t miss out on that 🔥
