This isn’t an installation mistake. The home on the right is insulated with spray foam, which changes how the attic space is designed to function.

What many homeowners (and even some contractors) don’t realize is that not all shingle manufacturers will provide a warranty on roofing systems installed over spray foam insulation unless specific materials and installation methods are used.

With today’s snow and freezing temperatures, ice damming can become a serious problem for your roof. Ice dams form when heat from inside your home melts snow on the roof, and the water refreezes at the eaves.
