Here's the major problem child! This is the Army worm. Yes, they can obliterate an entire lawn within 48 hours. The good thing is they're easy to kill and your lawn won't be dead for ever cause it'll come back next year but you'll have hungry little babies.

Let me know if you want me to kill them! I also spray house exterior and around the inside of the garage. I kill all the bugs you hate.

Digging out beds with w**d barrier that were basically part of the yard really sucked but the end product is a lot better!

Ongoing maintenance is a lot better and less expensive than waiting for it to get out of control.

Busy day at the sod store!! Line down the feeder road. Need fescue!? Better make sure you order it.

Time to Shut Off Your Sprinkler System!!!

Winter Water Conservation Reminder from Oklahoma City Water Utilities

Watering during freezing temperatures could result in a fine

Water conservation enforcers are still out and about writing fines. In fact, the water conservation enforcement team will issue citations to those who water on days the thermometer reads 32 degrees or below. The Water Conservation Program prohibits watering during freezing temperatures to reduce water waste and ice on city streets.

The Utilities Department Line Maintenance employees advise everyone to winterize their pipes and sprinkler systems soon.

No one likes pipes to break, especially on Thanksgiving or Christmas Day.

Oklahoma City is under mandatory, year round odd-even watering schedule.Citizens whose address numbers end in an even number may water their yards on even-numbered days and citizens whose house numbers end in an odd number may water on odd-numbered days. All customers are asked to minimize the potential for overspray onto city streets. Communities that use Oklahoma City water are required to abide by all conservation requirements in the program.

Citations will be issued for water conservation violations in Oklahoma City:
First offense: $202 ($119 plus $83 court costs)
Second offense: $352 ($269 plus $83 court costs)
Third offense: $612 ($519 plus $83 court costs)

Hey there friends. Being that we are now going into the 💯's I thought that I would give you some info that you may or may not know.

Please be kind to your lawn company. Bring them out a bottle of water. When you hear on the radio or TV when the temperature is over 100, what you may not realize is that the device that the news uses for that reading is in a field, under a tree, in the shade and 6 foot above the ground. That's the coolest area that heat is measures.

What construction workers, roofers and landscapers feel is A LOT WORSE because we're on or near roads, sidewalks, direct sunlight and on surfaces that attract and radiate heat.

Through mid June (now) until mid July you can add approximately 30 degrees to that ever heat index you hear on the news and mid July through mid August you can add 50 to 70 degrees to what you hear on the news.

This isn't to freak you out but help you understand what we actually feel throughout the day.

If you are doing your own activities in this heat and you feel tingles and or dizziness IN ANY WAY. STOP and get inside immediately and get cooled down asap. DO NOT jump into a cold shower as this can very easily shock your system and you would likely have a heart attack. Start with luke cool water and get colder about every 2 min.

This heat and humidity is nothing to play with. Doesn't matter who you are or how strong you are. It's hard on everyone.

In short, be kind to those who are working outdoors because they're out working in 130 to 180 degrees (that's what they're actually feeling)

Hey there everyone! It's mid June. This means you should be setting your lawnmower up one notch until the end of June and then when July starts set it up another notch.

This will assure that you have a green healthy lawn and with the added height this will help to retain more water and your lawn to stay greener and thicker, longer.

That is, if you would like your lawn to look like the one below. You can also get on a w**d control program that included fertilizer.
