Peeps,
I don't know everything but I know a lil bit about alot. I like to see people succeed because there's no time or energy for anything else. I was told by many, "You're going to need a lawyer for that!" With their lil snooty attitude. Here I am completely approved/operating with multiple businesses and I've never hired a lawyer for something I can do myself!
So, here's my words of advice to those who'd like to hear it and want to start their own business in Oklahoma.
1. Don't pay someone todo what you can do for yourself. Need an LLC file it at https://www.sos.ok.gov/ make sure you also reserve your trade name. Total should be no more than $120-$140
2. Need a FEIN? File for it at www.irs.com and it's FREE
3. Please insure yourself, no one likes to get sued but if you do...be prepared!
4. PLEASE get all necessary permits for your industry. So many are doing it the wrong way and when the authorities come knocking, you'll wish you did it correctly! Plus, think of all the people who paid the fees and do business around you, you're basically stealing from them and risking customers. Want me to elaborate more, DM me.
5. Need a Sales Tax Permit? File for one at https://oktap.tax.ok.gov/OkTAP/Web/_/ should be $20
6. Need a business license, file it at
https://www.okc.gov/departments/development-services/business-licensing/business-licenses/food-service-establishment cost can vary depending on your industry
7. Need Health Department Permit, find your application and fees here https://oklahoma.gov/business/operate/licenses-and-permits.html simply choose your county
8. When posting about your business, read your post over and over (very slowly or backwards) this is a proof reader's trick. Does it make sense? Did you include what you do, where your located, cost, how to contact and socials? Is it informative enough? Did you repeat yourself? Seems like alot huh? Do yourself a favor and use IA for your marketing. Its free and it's programed to market.
9. If you are stuck on an application question, stop asking just anyone and selecting who sounds right. Use AI once again because it will give you a complete breakdown of the question as hand.
10. Support others, they'll support you! Family & friends will be the last ones who jump on board. Head down, focus and never stop because when you lift your head up for a peek you'll be setting new goals cause the others are behind you!
PS:
Small goals that feel achievable are met easier rather than one large goal. Break it up, get there faster! Fail quick, get up quicker!
