Art is more than a finishing touch. In a building created to serve The Muscogee Nation, it's important that Mvskoke artists and their work be an integral part of the story.

For the past three years, our team has worked diligently to collect and curate artwork by Mvskoke artists for the Citizen Services Building. Seeing that collection come together is incredibly meaningful. Each piece brings the culture, creativity, and perspective of the Mvskoke people into a space designed for their citizens.

We’re grateful to every artist who shared their work and helped make this building a meaningful reflection of the community it serves.

Friday we celebrated the Citizen Services Building Ribbon Cutting and Open House🎉

New Fire Native worked closely with The Muscogee Nation to bring tribal government and essential citizen services together in one welcoming, centralized home. The new Citizen Services Building will help citizens more easily access the resources and support they need.

Every design decision also reflects the Mvskoke story. Mound-inspired geometry honors the Nation’s ancestry and connection to Mother Earth, while water motifs, natural stone, limestone, and abundant natural light connect the building to nature and express the Nation’s continued growth. Tribal elements throughout the interior help tell the story of past, present, and future generations.

We're deeply grateful to the Muscogee (Creek) Nation for trusting us to help shape this important campus through its master plan and ongoing projects, such as the Citizen Services Building. Thank you for inviting our team to listen, collaborate, and help create a place that will serve and celebrate Mvskoke citizens for generations to come. Congratulations on this incredible milestone!

National Intern Day is the perfect time to recognize the incredible contributions of our 2026 New Fire Native interns! 🎉

Over the past few months, they gained hands-on experience, visited projects and jobsites, collaborated with our team, and discovered how thoughtful, community-focused design can create meaningful spaces for the people they serve. Their creativity, eagerness to learn, and fresh perspectives made this summer one to remember, and we're grateful they chose to spend it with us.

They recently volunteered at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, giving their time to support neighbors facing hunger across our state. We’re proud of their willingness to step up, serve others, and make a meaningful impact beyond the office.

We are honored to celebrate the completion and ribbon cutting of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Indians' new Social Services Building, a place created to support the tribe's commitment to caring for its citizens.

From the earliest planning conversations to the finished building, our team worked alongside the Otoe-Missouria Tribe to create a welcoming, culturally responsive environment that reflects the importance of the services provided within its walls.

Congratulations to the tribe on this exciting milestone, and thank you for trusting New Fire Native to help bring your vision to life. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this facility will have for generations to come.

New Fire Native's summer interns recently took part in internOKC, hosted by the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, where they joined interns from across the metro for a day of leadership development, networking, and inspiration. The event featured sessions with local professionals and a keynote address from OKC Mayor David Holt, highlighting the opportunities and momentum shaping OKC.

At New Fire Native, we’re committed to investing in our interns through programs like this. We're excited to see how this experience helps shape the next generation of designers and leaders.

🏛️ A look at progress on the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Courthouse Building 🔥

Part of the Tribal Capitol Complex Master Plan, the Courthouse Building draws inspiration from the element of fire—symbolizing energy, transformation, and connection. The design reflects the ceremonial fires where leaders gathered to share ideas, build consensus, and strengthen community.

As construction continues in Okmulgee, the building’s architecture and site features honor Muscogee (Creek) traditions while creating a modern civic space for future generations.

We recently celebrated Draft Day 2026, an NFL-style event welcoming summer interns and recognizing the exciting opportunities ahead for the next generation of designers.

This year's draft class includes Danielle Arias and Whitney Williams, who will spend the summer gaining hands-on experience alongside our architects, planners and designers. Their creativity, talent and fresh perspectives will contribute to projects that honor Indigenous culture, community and place, and we're excited to see all they accomplish as part of the New Fire Native team.

A sneak peek at progress on the The Muscogee Nation’s Citizen Services Building ✨

As part of the Nation’s Tribal Capitol Complex Master Plan, this project draws inspiration from the water element—one of four guiding concepts alongside fire, earth, and wind. Rooted in the Nation’s deep connection to nature, the design reflects the Tribe's story of past, present, and future through symbolism, geometry, and material expression.

Now rising from the site, each phase of construction brings this vision closer to life, honoring resilience, culture, and community in every detail.
