We were contacted about helping out someone in our community who had a rotting deck. We were able to get over and help her out. She had some recycled materials and we purchased some new deck boards.

Mr Mack and Mr James made quick work out of it. They even went the extra mile and blew off her roof/gutter and cleaned her swing.

Helped out another resident of the tri-county area this morning. Many hands makes light work. Have to go back over and help rebuild her porch next. If anyone wants to help with labor or donate materials feel free to reach out.

In Galations we learn about bearing one another's burdens. Today we helped alleviate one of hers. The storms blew down a bunch of debris in her yard and destroyed 2 sheds. We got them all cleaned up and hauled off. She was excited to use her driveway again.

If you know of someone that could use a little help around the yard let us know!

We finished up Mr Daves house before the holiday. Many thanks to Miller Renovations for helping out. They got the floor safe, most of the holes filled in the walls and floors, and the underpinning put back under the house. The VA is coming back out to help out a new set of stairs in and help with in home care.

If you have someone who is in need of help please reach out and we will see what we can do. Most of our projects are done with the help of volunteers or local contractors. If you are referring someone who is in need please think about donating to the non-profit to help cover materials and food for the volunteers working to help the community. If you are a local contractor interested in donating labor and materials please reach out as well. We are looking to grow and serve.

Some friends of ours celebrated their annual First Responder Appreciation Day today. Great people supporting a great cause. The saying "it takes a village" is an understatement. We always try and donate a little but it is never enough. Our public servants deserve so much more!

Another day in the books. Scrap guys hauled another load to the recycler. Weighed in at 3149lbs. Cleared all the trash out of the woods around the house. Demolished the front porch. Dump trailer will be delivered in the morning. Just me and another person working around the property after the scrappers left. One heck of a burn pile.

Hoping to finish up the land clearing and trash removal tomorrow. Then it is on to cleaning out his horses paddock. Thats when the respirators are going to come in handy!

Today was a little harder for me. The heat, sweat, bugs, pollen, dirt, etc was getting to me. I remembered a bible verse one of my Army chaplains used to tell us when we would question why we were in the middle east.

Luke 6:38

"Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God."

It helped me get through my day. Maybe it will help you in yours.

Started another project today. Thankful for my neighbors for helping. Going to be a long few days to get it done. Hoping to get this gentleman some help inside his home as well. There are holes in the floor and rats everywhere. Scrap metal folks hauled off 2900lbs today and have probably 5000lbs more to go. I couldn't get anyone to commit to bringing a dumpster. Two companies no called no showed. Got my but kicked by a chicken coop today.

We had 3 people on site helping today. 3 trucks. A tractor. And a mower. Chainsaws and w**d eaters. I may have under estimated how much fuel we will go through on these.

I have to remind everyone let's not think about why it got the way it did. Let's focus on how to get him out of it. He is a disabled Veteran as well. Trying to get a VA rep to help out.

We will have a 501c3 approved way to take donations soon. The sweat equity is worth it. The smile on Mr Daves face today made it all worth it

Those of you who don't know I started a 501c3 non-profit a little while back. Since moving to Dixie County I have donated/gifted/rented equipment almost $10,000 and over 250hrs of time to help neighbors and others within the community. Starting this non-profit means a little more to me than i thought.

Everyone knows my father was always the first one to help those in need. I'm dedicating this organization to continuing the legacy of my father. I thought long and hard about what to call it. I would like to introduce you to "Dixie Do Good."

We have already had folks reach out about community projects. Stay tuned. Here is a little one from today.
