Well it's still February in Ohio. Snow is predicted for Sunday into Monday with another 2 to 4 inches of plowable snow. Spring is not quite here yet, even though you may have thought so this past week.

❄️ SEASON SNOWFALL TO‑DATE: WINTER IS SHOWING OFF

Our seasonal‑to‑date snowfall numbers are in, and the entire region is running well above average — a true throwback winter we haven’t experienced in years. Since November, it’s been a steady parade of cold, snow, and more snow, and the totals prove it.

Many locations are now sitting 10 to 25 inches ABOVE normal, and the season isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

For snow lovers, this has been an electric, nonstop, grin‑from‑ear‑to‑ear kind of winter — the kind we’ve been waiting a long time to see. Let’s keep it rolling. ❄️🌨️

Have you seen the news lately?

There is a nationwide salt shortage and this hurts our business as well as the safety of our clients.

Like many contractors across Northeast Ohio, Smart Scapes / Smart Snow is experiencing salt supply issues due to shortages from our suppliers, Cargill and Morton Salt. Unfortunately, they have been unable to fulfill the full amount of salt ordered and have cut off all private entities from salt, while they try and provide material to the state, county and city level.

With another round of winter weather expected this weekend, our team will be rationing salt and focusing on high-priority areas, while salting only after the storm comes to a close. While roads, parking areas, drives and walks will continue to be plowed and shoveled, salt applications will occur only after the snow has stopped.

Our team will do their best to keep all areas as safe and clear as possible.

If you must travel, allow extra time, use caution, and give plenty of distance to our team of snow plowers as well as municipal plows.
