After months of work and preparation, my biggest project to date is finally done! I’ve been waiting to share this— I was chosen to be the lead builder for a massive wall in the brand-new Newhouse building here in Olympia, the state capital.

Alongside my amazing team at Custom Source Woodworking, we poured our blood, sweat, and passion into this project. The wood was reclaimed from the old building, giving it a deep sense of history. With 140 individual panels, each featuring 8 custom pieces of wood, this wall represents some of the most striking areas of Washington State. This is my proudest work yet, and I’m incredibly honored to have been part of it!.

Got the next set of 24 done. So now I have 31 of the panels completed. Will be moving on to the next style for the slats now. .

Making a homemade batch of wood stain. The vinegar and steel wool mix. Read reacts with the tannins in the wood. And can leave a dark to black Stain depending on how may coats you apply.
