Proud to Give Back to the Community We Call Home

As a small, locally owned business serving Thurston County and the surrounding South Sound communities, where our own owner Blaine Farrar grew up, giving back has always been important to us.

Supporting the people, families, schools, and organizations that make our area such a great place to live means a lot to the entire Black Bear Construction team.

Every year, we seek out opportunities to support local youth and school sports. Last year, we were proud to sponsor the Tumwater High School Dance Team and the Rochester Warriors Girls Basketball Team. This year, we're excited to continue that tradition as an official sponsor of the Black Hills High School Football Team- check them out on Facebook at Black Hills Wolves Football!

This custom luxury barndominium and barn conversion was designed to preserve the history and charm of the original structure while transforming it into a beautiful, functional ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) for modern living.

The Tenino, Washington home features a full living area downstairs and a separate second living space upstairs—perfect for guests, multi-generational living, extended family, or entertaining.

To maintain the authentic character of the original barn, we incorporated unique elements from the existing structure, including an original stall door repurposed as a custom interior barn door.

We left a bin of chalk for our custom home build clients’ children to have some fun while their new home was taking shape. When we came back, they had planned out their future bedrooms on the subfloor!
