NOW HIRING: COMMERCIAL & GOVERNMENT ESTIMATOR / BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
The Atlas Group is seeking an experienced Commercial & Government Estimator / Business Development professional to help expand our commercial, municipal and governmental contracting divisions.
This is not a residential sales position. We are looking for someone who understands how to find opportunities, perform takeoffs, build accurate estimates, navigate procurement requirements, submit competitive bids and help turn awarded work into profitable projects.
Our work includes:
* Commercial landscape installation & maintenance
* Tree removal, pruning & vegetation management
* Erosion & Sediment Control (E&S)
* Land clearing & site work
* Right-of-way clearing and maintenance
* Stormwater and exterior site improvements
* Municipal, state and other governmental contracting
* Commercial subcontracting for general contractors
Responsibilities include:
* Identify commercial and governmental bid opportunities
* Review plans, specifications, scopes of work and contract documents
* Perform detailed quantity takeoffs
* Develop labor, equipment, material and subcontractor pricing
* Prepare complete estimates and bid proposals
* Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations
* Navigate government procurement and electronic bidding platforms
* Manage bid calendars, deadlines, addenda and required documentation
* Review prevailing-wage requirements, bonding requirements and bid specifications
* Attend pre-bid meetings and jobsite walkthroughs
* Develop relationships with general contractors, municipalities, engineers, property managers and government agencies
* Follow up on proposals and awarded opportunities
* Track bid results and help refine estimating based on actual production and job profitability
* Assist management in identifying new markets and contract opportunities
Ideal Candidate:
* Proven experience in commercial estimating, construction estimating or government contracting
* Strong proficiency with commercial and governmental takeoffs and procurement
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
* Familiarity with public bidding and prevailing-wage projects
* Strong understanding of labor, equipment, material and production costing
* Experience with estimating and takeoff software
* Strong computer and organizational skills
* Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines independently
* Strong communication, negotiation and business-development skills
* Detail-oriented with a focus on both winning work and maintaining profitability
Experience in landscape construction, tree care, vegetation management, site work, excavation, E&S or civil construction is highly desirable.
Compensation:
Base salary of 75k-90k based on experience plus 2% commission on gross profit for in house leads and 5% commission for self procured.
