The former OJ’s Cafe building in Florence is coming down, and Big A Demo is on the job.

Our crew is handling the work with the planning, care, and experience these kinds of projects require. From familiar neighborhood properties to larger commercial sites, Big A is trusted to get the job done safely and professionally.

The Ormand Apartments had a meaningful place in Omaha’s architectural history, and we understand why many people are sad to see the building come down.

Big A Demo was brought into this project after the decision had already been made and after we were told all realistic measures to save the building had been exhausted. Our role is to safely and professionally complete permitted demolition work once a project reaches that stage.

We appreciate the Omaha World-Herald’s look at the history of the Ormand and the broader conversation around preservation, redevelopment, and public safety in Omaha.

From vacant to future-ready.

Big A Demo recently cleared the former 402 Hotel at 2211 Douglas Street in Omaha—an abandoned structure with a long history and a new purpose ahead. The site will soon become a 73-unit mixed-income senior housing community, bringing affordable homes and renewed life to the neighborhood. Proud to play a role in progress. 🏗️

We had an incredible time participating in Westgate Elementary School's Construction Week in Omaha! 🚧👷‍♂️

Not only are we actively working on a project with the school, but we also had the privilege of giving the kids an up-close look at our trucks and machinery. Seeing their excitement and curiosity reminds us why we love what we do. At Big A Demolition, we're passionate about building strong foundations—not just in structures, but in our community as well.

A big thank you to Westgate Elementary - District 66 for hosting such a fantastic event and to all the students who joined us. Together, we're building the future!

We have begun the heartfelt task of saying goodbye to the former YMCA building in Council Bluffs. We recognize that this historic landmark holds a special place in the hearts of many, filled with memories of community and togetherness. While it's never easy to part with a piece of our shared history, the building's significant disrepair has made this step necessary to ensure the safety and progress of this beloved city.
