The 2022 season is almost upon us and we are as excited as ever to serve your irrigation needs. We will start turning systems on and leaving them on starting mid April like every year as this is the last day on average for freezing overnight temps that can damage your backflow. Labor rates will stay the same as last year, however we will be adding a $3 dollar fuel surcharge to everyone's bill while gas prices rise to levels never seen before. This is temporary and will be removed once gas prices return below $3/gallon for "the cheap stuff." Thank you for your continued support during these trying times.

If you haven't looked into it already, we suggest having us install a wifi controller with smart weather technology (we can suggest/provide a few brands that work best). These units are paying for themselves in water savings two or three times over the very first year installed and that's with the smaller 5 zone systems. For 3 yrs I told this customer his plastic valve inside his home was unsafe and routinely begged him to change it before it blew and flooded his home. (He installed this himself) Now since the water pressure exceeded the pressure rating of the plastic valve and his system had a huge flaw of also exceeding flow rates of 5 ft/sec causing excessive water hammer the valve was at a much higher risk of a catastrophic failure. Water hammer causes that loud boom throughout your house when the system shuts down or switches from station to station. This is caused by companies cutting corners and stretching the systems capabilities. It causes a significant pressure spike that can damage every and any plumbing apparatus tied into the homes plumbing system at any given time. Well, he refused to put in a pressure reducing valve and also refused to ever replace the plastic valve since, "it has always worked in the past."

Well i got a call... Now look close at the picture, notice anything? Now not only does he need to replace the valve to even water his lawn. He needs to replace drywall, carpet, not to mention the damage to all his belongings in the storage room/workshop he flooded.

What could have set him back a couple hundred dollars just became a couple thousand easily.

So here we are folks, on the cusp of yet another irrigation season and I have a few updates from m.u.d. and what they are charging for water. In 2014, $1 got you 328 gallons of water, 2015 you got 254 gallons, 2016 you got 243.74 gallons for a dollar. Notice a trend? Now in 2017, $1 will get you just 238.96 gallons of water. When an average 5 zone irrigation system is capable of using 1920 gallons on just the average settings and it does this 3 times a week all spring and summer long, now more than ever is a great time to have a rain sensor installed. So an average system costs about $8.16 every time it runs at the average settings, a rain sensor at $150 installed would easily pay for itself the first year with an average years rainfall. Factor in m.u.d.'s $50 rebate that they apply directly to your bill for having one installed and you easily come out on top. Oh, and lets not forget the tens of thousands of gallons of water youll avoid wasting by watering after a rain each and every year your sensor is installed.
