Another project wrapped up in the beautiful Westbury Farm neighborhood of Elkhorn!

With a pool in the backyard, these homeowners wanted to create more privacy without making the space feel closed off. Our solution was a living privacy screen that will only get better with time.

We installed 24 Taylor Junipers, each already standing approximately 8–9 feet tall, creating an immediate visual screen while allowing the trees to continue filling in and creating even more privacy as they mature.

The contrast of the deep Black Obsidian against the white fence and green junipers turned out beautifully. As these trees establish and fill in, this backyard and pool area is going to feel even more private and secluded.

Sometimes property enhancement isn’t about completely redesigning a space, it’s about identifying exactly what’s missing and creating a solution that looks like it belonged there all along.

A water feature should be a focal point, not a safety concern. 💧🪨 (Before & After)

This project took us to Mallard Landing, a beautiful lake community in Valley, Nebraska, where we were asked to restore an aging water feature that had become both an eyesore and a safety concern.

Over time, the original feature had begun to fail, creating an unstable structure that wasn’t safe for children or anyone exploring around it.

Our team carefully dismantled the old feature and rebuilt it from the ground up, creating a stronger, safer foundation while giving it a refreshed, natural look that complements the surrounding landscape.

This Glenwood, Iowa property had breathtaking countryside views in every direction, and we were honored to complete the landscape installation that tied everything together.

Some projects never stop impressing us, even months later. ✨

Earlier this spring, we had the opportunity to transform this front entrance in the Greenbriar neighborhood of Elkhorn, and recently we stopped back for a quality check.

We’re happy to say it looks just as great today as it did the day we finished. The plants are thriving, the landscape has filled in beautifully, the lighting continues to shine, and the bubbling water feature is running exactly as it should.

We believe the job isn’t finished when the last tool is loaded into the trailer. We take pride in checking back on our work to make sure everything is establishing properly and performing the way it was designed to. 🐞 Japanese Beetles Are Back… Is Your Landscape at Risk? 🌿

If you’ve started noticing shiny green and copper-colored beetles on your plants, chances are you’ve spotted Japanese beetles. While they may look harmless, they can cause significant damage to your landscape in a very short time.

These pests feed on over 300 different species of plants, often leaving behind skeletonized leaves that turn brown and unhealthy.

Some of their favorite plants include:
🌹 Roses
🍇 Grapevines
🍎 Apple & Crabapple Trees
🌳 Birch Trees
🌿 Linden Trees
🍒 Cherry Trees
🍑 Plum Trees
🍁 Japanese Maples
🌺 Hibiscus
🌼 Hydrangeas (occasionally)
🍇 Virginia Creeper

Signs of Japanese beetle damage:
✔️ Leaves that look like lace or skeletons
✔️ Flowers with chewed petals
✔️ Groups of beetles feeding together on the same plant
✔️ Brown patches in your lawn later in the season from grubs feeding on grass roots

The sooner they’re addressed, the better your chances of protecting your landscape.

⚠️ A tip from the pros: Avoid using Japanese beetle traps close to your landscape. While they catch beetles, they often attract even more to your yard than they remove.

🌲 Bagworms: Small Pest, BIG Damage 🌲

Seeing brown spots on your arborvitae or evergreens? Those little hanging “bags” or “Pinecones” could be bagworms…and they can strip a shrub quickly if left untreated.

Bagworms feed on needles and foliage, stripping plants of the greenery they need to survive. A heavy infestation can:
❌ Thin out shrubs quickly
❌ Cause entire branches to die
❌ Permanently damage or even kill smaller trees

And the scary part? Many homeowners don’t notice until significant damage is already done.

🗓 Best time to treat: Late spring to early summer (when larvae are small and actively feeding) is the most effective time to spray.

• Early Stage: Treat with a targeted insecticide while larvae are young.
✂️ Late Season: Hand removal into a trash bag and disposal can help reduce next year’s population (every bag contains hundreds of eggs)

Timing is everything. Once the bags mature, sprays become far less effective.
