I remodeled this kitchen 22 years ago and now as part of a whole house remodel and addition it is new again.
Building these cabinets and staining and painting them these colors is not like anything I’ve done before but it works good in a home overlooking the river.
And apparently white appliances is a thing again.

We packed a lot of nice things in this little home this summer. I built the cabinets, Corian countertops and trim in my shop and put new doors and trim through out the house. And put a full tile backsplash in.
The cabinets feature inset doors, full extension soft close drawer guides, soft close hinges, pull out trash can, built in microwave, a hidden pull out coffee maker tray, spice drawers and Alabaster White finish.
It’s a beautiful little farm house.

40 years ago this month we started the arduous task of rebuilding the Henderson County covered bridge. Making new pieces and marrying them with the old pieces. Building the walls on the ground first then moving down to the park to start assembling the 104’ monster.
Ray Shafer, his sons Brad Shafer and Mark Shafer, Kevin Shauman and myself. Ray died a few years ago at almost 97.
Everyone of us stayed in construction in some form or another. The five of us have somewhere around 225 years experience between us. We worked together so much that we knew what the other was thinking without saying a word and trusted each other to throw tools back and forth to each other several feet off the ground. I was making $4.00 an hour and was just happy to be working outside with my friends.
