Today’s job was a tricky one to say the least! The crew spent the day removing a really cool looking Live Oak growing in a really inconvenient location, a Norfolk Pine that was no longer interested in participating in photosynthesis, and a palm that was so dead that’s it’s smell could clear a backyard faster than a family of mosquitoes.

Access was essentially nonexistent and large wood hung directly over a beautiful oasis of a backyard, but the crew rocked it and the day went flawlessly.

Another great day in the books! 🙌

Some minor crown thinning on a major Oak 🌳

Thinning the canopy allows wind to flow easily through the tree rather than acting like a solid wall. This reduces the "wind sail" effect, lowering the risk of branch snapping or structural failure during storms or strong winds.

I’ve had the honor of trimming this monster tree for nearly two decades and am still in awe of its massive size and incredible resilience. 💪

Sometimes the hardest trees to remove are the most beautiful. 😕

Unfortunately, this tree had become a serious hazard to the home. Large limbs were damaging the roof and the root system was causing major issues with the driveway. The fence was being lifted and structural issues underground were becoming a major concern to the home. While we always appreciate the beauty and shade mature trees provide, safety has to come first.

🔥 This is a solid reminder that your dead or dying tree is losing moisture over time and slowly turning into dry fuel. A dead oak tree, such as the one we tackled today, can become highly combustible and pose a fire risk- especially when our area is experiencing the drought conditions we are. Something as simple as our chainsaw’s exhaust sent this guy up in flames.
