Backflow testing is a process used to ensure the safety of a water supply by checking for the presence of backflow, which is the unwanted flow of water in the opposite direction to its intended direction. Backflow can occur when there is a pressure imbalance in a water system, allowing contaminants to enter the drinking water supply.

Backflow testing involves the inspection and testing of backflow prevention devices, such as backflow prevention assemblies or backflow preventers. These devices are installed in plumbing systems to prevent the backflow of water from a potentially polluted source, such as a sprinkler system or a swimming pool, into the public drinking water supply.

During the testing process, a certified backflow tester will inspect the backflow prevention devices to ensure they are functioning correctly. This may involve checking for any leaks, verifying the proper operation of check valves, and measuring the pressure differential across the device.

Regular backflow testing is typically required by local water authorities or building codes to ensure the ongoing safety of the water supply. It helps to identify any potential issues with backflow prevention devices and ensures they are working effectively to protect the drinking water from contamination.

If a backflow prevention device fails the testing, it may need to be repaired or replaced to maintain the integrity of the water supply.

Schnitzel is traditionally made with veal, chicken and other meats, but why not try it with elk, venison or antelope. It's a simple recipe that tends to keep the meat very tender when cooked and really tastes amazing with some fresh thyme and romano cheese. Serve alongside spaghetti or spaghetti squ...
