🛑Important PSA from our owner, Audrey Hall🛑
“As a homeowner, a mother, and a local business owner, I had an unexpected door-to-door sales interaction at my home that reminded me how important it is to ask questions and trust your instincts.
The individual who came to my door was selling pest control. He was not transparent about where he worked, claimed to have worked at Eco Serve (never did) and later referenced having a solicitation permit (in order to legally be allowed at my door)— only to then admit he lied on both accounts.
As consumers, it’s important to remember:
• You never have to make a decision at the door
• Ask for identification and company information
• Verify businesses online before signing anything- what is their cancellation clause if you decide to opt out and what are their reviews?
• Be cautious of pressure tactics or vague answers
• Trust your gut if something feels off
At Eco Serve Pest Services, we believe professionalism, honesty, and transparency matter — especially when someone is standing at your front door and he even more so if they’re a stranger. As a mother, I am always on guard of my surroundings but someone lying to pressure sell me something at my own front door is very disarming. I know I am not alone.
This post isn’t about attacking another company- I blurred out uniform intentionally. It’s about encouraging homeowners to stay informed, ask questions, and feel empowered when approached by strangers at their home.
Pest control should be personal — and built on trust by local professionals.
