This custom home was designed by hollyman.design and brought to life by our team: interior design, fabrication, framing, and general contracting all handled in-house.

The main level is anchored around a great room with vaulted ceilings, post and beam accents, and a gorgeous two-story stone fireplace. Upstairs, a loft overlooking the great room connects to a second guest suite, a bunk room, and a full recreation room with a built-in entertainment area and kitchenette.

Let us introduce you to the Alex and Faye Spanish Faith & Heritage center, a nearly 7,000 sq. ft. Greek Orthodox chapel!

Our team had the pleasure of building this unique structure from the ground up.

Designed in the method of post and beam construction, it features heavy timber accents that perfectly complement the stunning hand printed murals adorning the interior.

This custom foursquare home in Sandy, Oregon is absolutely unique, and one of our absolute favorites in our catalog!

It’s a modern reproduction of an early twentieth century American Foursquare home, a residential style built between the 1890s and 1930s that valued simplicity, symmetry, and quality.

Getting it right required an incredible amount of attention to detail: custom inlays and enamel artwork set into the hardwood floors, box beam ceilings that match the period, a pagoda-style dormer added to create headroom in the third-floor attic. These are all details so specific to the style that getting it wrong would have been obvious.

Our goal with this project was to make it feel like the house was transported from the early 20th century, and we think we nailed it.

Where do we build?

Oregon, Washington, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, and Montana.

We're based in the Portland area, but we actually build throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond! Here's how that works:

🔸 Our crews go where the project is. We maintain framing and siding crews who travel throughout the western US, and when a project is right for us, we go to it.
🔸 Design happens in-house, from anywhere. Our in-house design team works with clients across the US using 3D modeling and VR walkthroughs that make geography largely irrelevant in the design phase. The client sees the home before we build it, wherever they are.
🔸 Regional trades, DC standards. For other work that needs to be local (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, concrete, etc.) we have a directory with vetted regional subcontractors. The standards we hold them to are the same ones we apply to our own crews.
🔸 The result is the same wherever we build. Whether we're building a turn-key home in the Willamette Valley or an equestrian facility in the Colorado Rockies, the quality of the work is the same because the team behind it is the same.

This barn and workshop in Fillmore, California was designed around a client who knew exactly what they wanted!

How much does a custom home in Oregon cost?

It’s the first question almost every client asks, and it deserves a real answer.

🔸 Design & Engineering: Expect to invest $50,000–$150,000+ in the design phase depending on complexity, size, and the level of detail your project requires. This is where the decisions get made that determine everything else.

🔸 Site Prep & Foundation: This is the most variable line item of any Oregon build. A flat lot in the Willamette Valley behaves very differently than a hillside property in West Linn or a rural parcel in Central Oregon.

🔸 Construction: For a fully custom home in Oregon, budget $400–$600+ per square foot for construction costs. High-end finishes, complex sites, or heavily engineered structures push toward the top of that range or beyond.

🔸 The Honest Answer: A 3,000 sq. ft. custom home in the Portland metro will vary greatly compared to a 3,000 sq. ft. custom home on the Oregon Coast. It’s hard to compare apples to oranges! That’s why we give every client a detailed, project-specific estimate before any work begins. No guessing.

If you could customize every part (and we really mean ✨every part✨) of a brand-new custom home, what would you prioritize first?

For these clients, their outdoor area was a big priority, and we were able to build them their dream outdoor entertaining space!

On the main floor, patio doors in the living space open to a spacious outdoor patio with a built-in kitchen and bar, a double-sided stone fireplace, and a two-story patio cover with custom timber frame trusses.

We think it's just the bee's knees! 🐝
