Progress is happening fast at our remodel project in Middleton! 🛠️ Check out these before-and-after views of the primary bathroom transformation over the last few weeks. 🗓️

On October 2nd, the space was all exposed framing, plywood, and orange waterproofing as the team prepped the core layout. 🔨 Flash forward to October 22nd, and the transformation is stunning!

We are celebrating a massive milestone—the slate flooring and shower wall tiles are fully set and looking absolutely gorgeous! 🎉✨ The custom Amish Shaker White Oak vanities, makeup station, and matching tub panels are also beautifully in place. 🪵 Next up—countertops and fixtures!

Once finished, this space will be an absolute oasis with a heated bathtub, smart toilet, and a multi-function Chrome shower system. It is still a work in progress, but we are thrilled to see this stunning owner's suite come together! 😍🏡

Collaborating on an incredible transformation! 🤝✨

We finished this lakeside staircase replacement in McFarland, WI last season, but we recently went back to shoot it now that the surrounding landscaping has completely grown in.

Carrington Lawn & Landscape handled the master design and all of the stunning hardscape work, and we were thrilled they brought us on board to construct the staircase and landings. Swipe to see how our carpentry integrates with their stone layouts across these before, after, and beautifully matured views! 🌊🙌

One week. Massive progress right here in Middleton, WI! 🏗️✨

Take a look at how far this major remodel and addition project has come in just seven days! We’ve transitioned from bare framing to watching this stunning second-story 3-season screened deck truly take shape.

This outdoor oasis is just one piece of a much larger transformation we are tackling for our clients, which includes a full two-story addition over the garage, new bedrooms, a laundry room, and completely updated interior spaces.

From structural framing to the tongue-and-groove ceiling and composite flooring details, the vision is officially coming to life. Shoutout to the crew for absolutely crushing it this week!

Stay tuned to watch this transformation continue. 🔨

🔥 Pavilion Fireplace: Ready for Masonry! 🛠️📋

We are back at this beautiful timber frame pavilion in Black Earth, WI to start the next phase: a custom fireplace chase and hearth. 🪵✨Our crew just wrapped up framing out the massive 17-foot tall chase, and the structure is officially prepped and ready for stone! Next up, it will be completely wrapped in stunning Carbon EZ Ledge stone, featuring gray cultured stone caps over the built-in firewood storage areas. 🧱🪚

We are also excited to partner with Fireside Hearth & Home on this build. Their team is installing a premium 42" Cottagewood insert with a stainless screen and a decorative metal cap. To tie the whole rustic pavilion look together, we’ll be mounting a beautiful reclaimed barn timber as the final mantel piece. 🪵🔥

Before & After: An exterior transformation out in Oregon, WI! 📐🔨

We recently wrapped up this project, removing an old, outdated wood and metal staircase and replacing it with a brand-new, wood-framed, code-compliant setup. 🪵🪚

Swipe to see the change! We completely rebuilt the structure from the ground up, starting with deep 18" x 48" footings and heavy-duty 6x6 green-treated posts. 📋✨ We expanded the top layout to include a spacious, rock-solid new landing built with robust 2x10 platform framing and four 2x12 step stringers. Everything was finished out beautifully with premium brown-treated 5/4 decking, 1x8 risers, and custom railings. 🪜🧱

Progress update on the staircase and landing build in Oregon, WI. 🛠️

📋Our crew is moving right along on this project, replacing an old structure with a brand-new, wood-framed, code-compliant setup. 📐🔨

The framing is taking shape using 6x6 green-treated posts and robust 2x10 platform framing. We are running four 2x12 stringers for the steps to ensure the entire structure is completely stable and built to last. 🪵🪚 Up next, we will be finishing everything off with brown-treated decking, risers, and custom railings. 🪜✨

🏠 Insulating for comfort at our remodel in Middleton! 🧊✨

Big milestone this week as the insulation crew wraps up and gets us ready for sheetrock! Our project manager, Karl, shared some great insights into the extra details going into this build:

🚗 Garage & Living Space: Because we built new bedrooms directly over the garage, we gave extra attention to protecting the ductwork and plumbing in the garage ceiling. This keeps everything safe from cold Wisconsin winters and ensures the rooms above stay perfectly cozy year-round!

🤫 Peace & Quiet: We installed sound-reducing insulation in the interior walls to match the existing house, keeping the new addition nice and quiet.

🎨 Charm: Check out the original gable brackets! We carefully removed, stored, painted, and re-installed them so the charm of the original home flows seamlessly into the new design.

🪵 Screened Deck: The rear screened deck is also taking shape and getting prepped for exterior finishes!

Next Stop: UW-Platteville! 🎓🔨

Building and remodeling are truly in James Wanta’s blood. Following in the footsteps of his father, Josh Wanta—who founded Legacy Custom Remodeling back in 2006—as well as his uncles and grandfather, James has grown up around the trade his entire life.

For the past two years, James has been working officially with the Legacy crew, completely immersing himself in the family business. He graduated from Oregon High School this past June, and now he is taking his passion to the next level. This fall, James is heading to UW-Platteville to study Project Management! 📚📐

Our entire crew wants to say a massive thank you to James. We’ve deeply appreciated his hard work, his fantastic "get-things-done" attitude, and the great energy he brings to every single job site.

Congratulations on your graduation, James! We are incredibly proud of you, thankful for your time on the crew, and excited to watch you build your own future in the industry. 🪵🏗️

Celebrating Jack Hovde! 🎓🔨For the past two years, we’ve been incredibly lucky to have Jack with us as a high school apprentice through Monona Grove High School's fantastic work program.

Working alongside his dad, Lead Carpenter Ben Hovde, Jack has spent his time learning all aspects of home remodeling. He graduated this past June, and while we will miss him around the job sites, we couldn't be prouder of his next step! Jack is moving on to his new profession as a heavy equipment operator. 🛠️🚛

Thank you, Jack, for your dedication, incredible work ethic, and always bringing a great attitude to the team. Congratulations on your graduation and your new career! You have a bright future ahead. 🌟
