Today we are Celebrating 40 Years of Quality Cable Contractors
The story of Quality Cable Contractors began in 1984, with little more than faith, determination, and a willingness to work. My father, Jorge Del Rio, started with limited resources while working another job to provide for his family. Over Memorial Day weekend in 1984, after working all day at his regular job, he went to a hotel on Colonial Drive in Orlando, Florida, and wired the project by himself. During those early years, my mother, Milagros Del Rio, worked alongside him behind the scenes, helping with the administrative responsibilities and whatever else was needed to get the company moving forward. Together, they made sacrifices, balanced work and family, and laid the foundation for what QCCI would eventually become. Those early days were built on hard work, faith, perseverance, and the belief that if you did things the right way and took care of your customers, opportunity would follow. Two years later, on August 11, 1986, Quality Cable Contractors was officially incorporated, beginning the next chapter of a journey that continues today.
What began with CATV wiring quickly evolved as technology and the needs of our customers changed. In 1987, QCCI expanded into telephone systems, and by 1994, the company had moved into Voice/Data communications and fiber optics, establishing the foundation for the technology and communications infrastructure company we are today. In 2011, after graduating from college, Gabriel Del Rio joined QCCI with a new vision for the future, determined to build upon the foundation his father had established, expand the company’s capabilities, and continue its growth into the next generation. Together with an incredible team, that vision has helped QCCI grow into a trusted provider of communications infrastructure, fiber optics, security, surveillance, and technology solutions throughout Central Florida. Through every stage of that evolution, the principles established from the beginning have remained at our core: quality, service, integrity, hard work, and putting our customers first.
None of what QCCI is today would be possible without the incredible people who have carried those values forward. To every member of the QCCI team, past and present, thank you for your hard work, loyalty, dedication, and commitment to excellence. Every project completed, every challenge overcome, and every customer served has contributed to the company we are today.
As we celebrate 40 years since QCCI’s incorporation, we honor where we came from, give thanks for the people who helped us get here, and look forward with faith and confidence to what lies ahead. The foundation was built through sacrifice, the legacy continues through our people, and the best chapters of QCCI are still ahead of us.
