A frozen evaporator coil is usually a symptom of another issue—not the problem itself.

Some of the most common causes include:
• Dirty air filter
• Low refrigerant
• Restricted airflow
• Blower motor issues

⚠️ If your system is frozen, turn the thermostat OFF and let the ice melt completely before calling for service. Running it while frozen can make diagnosis more difficult and may lead to additional damage.
