Storm season doesn't wait for a convenient time, and most of the damage doesn't start with an obvious hole in the roof.

Here's what to actually watch for:

1. Granules collecting in your gutters or scattered across the yard are a sign your roof is wearing thin.

2. Water stains spreading across the ceiling instead of staying in one small spot.

3. Siding that's started to bubble, warp, or pull slightly away from the house.

4. Gutters sagging or pulling loose from the fascia board.
