Osage City Elementary School held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the school’s new playground shelter on Monday, April 27th. The staff and students honored the following businesses for their participation in the project: Brad Meek, owner of Quality Built Construction; Jarred Meek, project manager of Quality Built Construction; James Payne, manager of Waters Hardware; and Josh Rush and Jerry Spriggs of Midwest Concrete. Each company played an important role in the construction of the shelter. Waters Hardware donated the materials, Midwest Concrete donated the cement, and Quality Built Construction oversaw the construction and landscaping of the shelter. The playground shelter has been a dream of the elementary school for a while. Teachers now have a spot where a class can have an outdoor lesson, and students have a place that offers shade and a gathering spot. Due to the efforts of Dena Paul, the elementary principal who initiated the project, the shelter is called Paul’s Patio. Signs honoring the donors and Mrs. Paul will be displayed on the shelter. Picnic tables were purchased for the shelter through a fundraiser the elementary school had in January.
