DIY herbicide tip: watch the wind! 🌬️🌱

Many lawn herbicides — including Trimec style products — recommend spraying in winds under 10 MPH. Some triclopyr products allow up to 15 MPH, but drift risk increases fast as winds pick up.

Herbicide drift can damage: • flowers
• gardens
• trees
• ornamentals
• neighboring lawns

A calm morning is usually the best time to spray. And always remember — the label is the law! Read it before mixing or applying any product.

Summer lawn spraying tips 🌱☀️

When applying herbicides in the summer heat, ALWAYS read the label before spraying. The label is the law.

Many herbicides have maximum temperature restrictions: • Some products stop at 80° • Others allow up to 85° • A few have no heat restrictions

Ignoring these guidelines can: ⚠️ Burn or discolor your lawn
⚠️ Cause herbicide drift into flower beds, ornamental plants, or gardens
⚠️ Damage a neighbor’s lawn or landscaping

A good applicator doesn’t just spray weeds — they understand timing, weather conditions, and product labels.

No great chances of rain in the forecast… and our lawns are DRY! 🌱☀️
Now’s the time to start watering if you want to keep your lawn healthy and green through the heat.
💧 Water early in the morning for best results
💧 Aim for around 1 inch of water per week if possible
💧 Irrigated lawns should finish watering by about 9 AM
💧 Deep waterings are better than light daily sprinkles
💧 2–3 deep waterings per week is ideal
A good deep watering of roughly 3/4" helps push roots deeper and builds a stronger, more drought-tolerant lawn! Turn up the green! 🌿

Not all nitrogen is created equal.
On our smaller lawns, we’re applying a liquid 28-0-0 nitrogen blend through our skid sprayer for even coverage and quick plant response.
This isn’t just straight nitrogen either 👇
• Urea, ammoniacal, and nitrate nitrogen for both quick green-up AND sustained feeding
• Fulvic acid to help with nutrient uptake
• Kelp to support soil microbes and overall turf health
Why does that matter?
Because a healthy lawn isn’t just about dumping fertilizer — it’s about feeding the plant AND the soil.
Liquid apps allow us to dial things in, get better coverage, and give your lawn exactly what it needs.

When choosing a grub prevention product, don’t just look at the bag—look at the active ingredient.
👉 The one you want: chlorantraniliprole (found in products like Acelepryn®)
Why it matters: ✔️ Highly effective on grubs before they cause damage
✔️ Long residual control—protects your lawn through peak grub season
✔️ Minimal impact on beneficial insects when used as directed 🐝
✔️ No harsh smell or disruptive application
A lot of DIY products use older chemistry that can be harder on the environment and less consistent.

When choosing seed, make sure it’s certified clean seed—it matters more than you think.
For best results: • Use mesotrione at seeding to give your new grass a ~30-day jump on crabgrass
• Apply a starter fertilizer high in phosphorus to drive root growth early

Second round granular fertilizer is in!🌱

We’re applying our granular organically based + extended release fertilizer, built with micronutrients, AMS, and urea. NOT FILLER.

That means every granule is feeding your lawn… not just acting as a carrier.

When you’re looking at DIY options, pay attention to what’s actually in the bag. A lot of products use a grit or non-nutrient base. Ours doesn’t.
