GMS Electric

Today's post is for our crew. 🙌

Running an electrical company means nothing without the people willing to put on their boots, grab their tools, and show up to do the work — day in and day out, rain or shine, in the heat of summer and the freeze of a Wisconsin winter.

Our field guys are the backbone of GMS Electric. Every project we complete, every customer we serve, every milestone we hit — it is because of them. They work hard, they take pride in what they do, and they represent this company in the best possible way every time they pull up to a job site.

We don't say it enough — but we mean it every time: thank you. We are proud to have you on this team. 💚💙

A rare sighting — Gene, in the field! 👀🪜

He has been behind the desk lately, but when the schedule calls for it, he throws his tools on and gets after it. Recently he was out getting temporary lighting up at A's Performance — a project we are beyond excited about.

These guys are great friends of ours and we cannot wait to watch their shop come together. More to come from this one — stay tuned! 👊

Before you hit your busy season -- do you know what is happening inside your panels?

Most electrical problems are invisible until they fail. A burning smell, a tripped breaker, a mysterious hot spot -- these are warning signs that show up clearly on a thermal camera, long before they become a fire hazard or an unplanned outage.

GMS Electric uses thermal imaging to scan commercial and industrial facilities while everything is running under load. We find the problems before they find you -- and give you a clear report with repair priorities so you can plan ahead.

Quick reminder: sunset is now before 6:30pm and getting earlier every day. 🌙

If your home or business exterior is sitting in the dark -- that is a security and safety issue, not just an inconvenience. GMS Electric installs outdoor lighting for homes and businesses across the Chippewa Valley -- from driveway and pathway lights to full exterior security systems, properly wired and weatherproofed for Wisconsin winters.

This weekend we celebrated the best reason we work as hard as we do. 🎂❤️

Our oldest son turned 4 on Sunday, and we went completely unplugged to celebrate HIM. No phones, no work talk -- just cake, laughs, and a little boy who had no idea how much joy he brings to our whole world.

Four years of this kid and we still can't believe we get to be his parents. Happy birthday, buddy. We love you more than all the wire in the shop. ⚡😄

Gene isn't always behind a desk. 😄🎯

Before the rut kicks in and deer season takes over, fall means one thing -- trap season. This is Gene's happy place, and honestly, we love that he has it.

GMS Electric was proud to sponsor this group of guys this season, and it was every bit worth it. The camaraderie, the love of the outdoors, the friendly competition -- this is exactly the kind of community we want to be a part of. Plus, the boys are already auditioning for a spot on the squad. 😂

Shoutout to everyone who came out and shot this season.

Progress update -- Stanley School is coming along beautifully. 🏫⚡

There is something really special about working on a project like this. This building is going to serve this community for generations, and our crew has been putting in the work to make sure every light, every circuit, and every connection is done right.

Swipe through to see where things stand -- and that hallway shot? Those lights are ours, and we are pretty proud of how they turned out.

Still plenty of work ahead, but the finish line is getting closer. Can't wait to see this place full of kids. 🙌

Most homeowners have no idea their meter socket could be a problem -- until it is. ⚡

We got a call last week from a customer with a loose meter socket. It might not sound like a big deal, but a meter socket that isn't properly secured can cause arcing, overheating, and in the worst case -- a fire. We got out there, identified the issue, and got it locked down right.

This is exactly the kind of service call we love -- because catching something like this early is so much better than the alternative.

If something seems off with your electrical service entrance -- a wobble, a burning smell, flickering lights -- don't wait. Give us a call. 715-533-6318 | gmselectric.net
