These are the types of posts that I hate to make and ones that truly affect the small business owners and our customers. I take a lot of pride in what we do and working with my customers to keep costs inline and will always do what I can to help my customers where I can to save money. I received the first of three notices on Monday and got the last one today. Effective Monday August 24th ALL countertop pricing for solid surface, quartz,granite, etc is going up in cost because of added TARIFFS. I asked if my jobs that are already estimated are affected and was told any job not templated is affected. Some companies aren’t doing the increase until September 1 but I can’t have much done by then as that is less than a week away. I have contacted several of my customers already and will be contacting more in the near future but wanted to let everyone know that if you received a countertop estimate from Creative Edge Cabinets that the price will be more than estimated because of tariffs. Sorry but I can’t control that and will be sure to let you know what the new cost will be once I know. My vendors don’t even have an exact amount yet as this is all just transpiring

Well I knew it would be inevitable, but our most seasoned employee has announced the he will be retiring when he turns 80!!! Yes you read that correctly. In February my dad will be the big 8 0 and he says he is not working after his 80th birthday. He has been with Creative Edge Cabinets since the start and it will be hard to see him go, but it is well deserved. With that being said, we are looking for another member to join our team. We are looking to hire a full time or part time employee. Experience building, finishing and installing cabinets is preferred but not a must. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn is more important. This is a fast paced environment and lots of different things are happening in our shop each week. Some weeks are faster paced than others but we stay busy. Some benefits are available and pay is based on experience. Contact Craig with questions or stop by the shop to pick up an application.

It’s been a minute since we last posted anything on here but we have been extremely busy. There are several different jobs that are in the install process and are awaiting countertops or something else to finish it up. Today we traveled towards Convoy to finish up this install. It is still waiting on countertops but it is getting close. I can’t wait to see this one finished up. It is all coming together quite nicely.

It was a busy week and we continue to make progress with our schedule. While some may feel like we aren’t getting to their job as fast as we should be, I can assure you we are working through the list. It is a long list and we are behind schedule but we are doing our best. I don’t like to rush through jobs and not provide a quality product for our customers. Please be patient and if you have any questions feel free to call us or email us, but remember to please be nice as we are doing our best and want to continue to be one of the best custom cabinet shops in the area.

It’s only Thursday but what a week it has been already. On Monday we completed an install of stained maple cabinets towards Lincollnview Schools. This was before I headed out with the Creative Edge Trailer loaded to the gills and drove over 800 miles round trip to move Leah to Tennessee so she can begin the next phase of her life, Med school at Lincoln Memorial Universities DeBusk School of Osteopathic Medicine. It’s been a long week but more to come. Tomorrow morning early we head out for a soccer tournament in Genoa. Then next week it’s catch up time at work. Thanks to my wonderful employees for taking care of everything at the shop while I have been away. I couldn’t do it without them.

Wow is all I can say. It is insanely busy with lots going on at work and outside of work as well . Lots of employee vacations and different things to schedule around. We have installed every day this week so far and have one more tomorrow as well. We started the week off by installing some garage gear. Here are a couple pictures from the garage gear we installed this week. Don’t forget we offer powder coated garage cabinets from Redline.

It’s been a long time since we last posted but things are extremely busy and ramping up for this fall and winter. We have several jobs on the books for 2027. We are working diligently to get things done but we are behind schedule and trying to catch up. Thankfully a couple of our new builds are getting pushed back due to a wet spring and foundations not being able to be put in. We are also looking to hire someone to join our team. Experience is preferred but a willingness to learn and work is a must. Call the office and talk to Craig for more details.

It has been a long week, but a good week. If you recall that I recently posted about our first walnut job that we ever did and I said more to come on this special job. Well, we installed those beautiful cabinets this week. They were for my longtime friend Mike George and his wife Julia. Mike and I worked together as teachers many years ago amd stayed in touch as I moved on from teaching into the cabinet business. Mike would stop by and visit at my shop when he was in the area and we would just talk on the phone sometimes to catch up. He called me in January and asked if we could do his dream kitchen, he had wanted for over 20 years, of walnut cabinets sometime this summer or fall. I put him on our schedule and he called me a couple weeks later and asked if I could move him up as he was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and he only had 8-18 weeks left to live. I assured Mike that we could do that and I would make it happen for him. We started his cabinets on Friday May 1st and Mike passed away on May 2nd after his courageous battle with cancer. We didn’t quite make it so he could see them but I know he would love them. This project isn’t finished yet but all the cabinets are set and waiting for countertops and backsplash as well as his tin ceiling. Rest easy my friend I will miss you.

We have been busy with a lot of different things going on the last couple of weeks. We were able to finish up a large install near Continental, traveled to Powell and install, hire a new employee and made progress on a first for us here at Creative Edge. We will soon be installing our first walnut kitchen we ever did. This job is certainly special to me and I will provide more details after the install. Here is a sneak peak of what those cabinets are going to look like.

Travel day today. We took a trip to Powell Ohio today to do an install. Yes we do travel outside of this immediate area to do work, so if you are looking for cabinets or countertops and are wondering if we will come to you please give us a call.
