This exhibit brought penguins back to Evansville's Mesker Park Zoo for the first time in over 50 years, and Terri knew no one would be better for the job than Aquatic Resource Center 🐧

Featuring a 38,000-gallon exhibit pool with four underwater viewing windows, geothermal heating and cooling, and a completely automated Life Support System; this exhibit screams energy-efficient! 💦

The Humbolt penguins are able to enjoy the exhibit year-round by utilizing geothermal heating and cooling systems. Keepers can backwash filters with a push of a button. Backwash waste is collected, re-filtered, sanitized, and reused again in the exhibit making this system's domestic water consumption near zero.
